SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS DRIVES COMMUNICATION AND EXPLOITATION IN THE UPLIFT PROJECT
The European project UPLIFT has successfully concluded after four years of research and innovation focused on transforming the current plastic production and recycling paradigm. Its main goal was to develop advanced biotechnological solutions to break down and upcycle complex plastic waste into new, more sustainable and easily recyclable materials. Through this approach, UPLIFT contributed to reducing dependency on fossil-based raw materials and strengthening the competitiveness of Europe’s food and beverage packaging sector.
Sustainable Innovations led the project’s communication, dissemination, and exploitation efforts. From establishing the visual identity and branding strategy to managing the website, social media, newsletters, and outreach videos, the organisation ensured wide visibility and effective communication of the project’s results across Europe.
Beyond awareness-raising, Sustainable Innovations played a key role in bridging the gap between technological development and market adoption. By defining value creation strategies and business models for key results, identifying investment opportunities, and supporting intellectual property management, it laid the groundwork for real-world deployment of the project’s innovations.
With a strong focus on knowledge transfer, the team also developed online training materials, practical guides, and stakeholder-specific roadmaps to support the uptake of these new technologies by the industry. Thanks to its leadership, UPLIFT was not only a research project but a catalyst for change towards a more circular, efficient, and sustainable plastic packaging economy.
