LIGHTCOCE, a project funded by the European Union under the Horizon 2020 framework, aimed to develop an ecosystem of facilities and services for the design, execution, development, and expansion of lightweight concrete and ceramic-based multifunctional structures and materials.

For over 4 years, Sustainable Innovations led various tasks within the LIGHTCOCE project, such as business model development, intellectual property strategy, and the identification of potential funding opportunities.

Over 54 months, the consortium, consisting of 26 partners from 9 European Union countries, developed a well-structured Open Innovation Test Beds (OITB) system that offers a wide range of technical and non-technical services at fair prices for the multifunctional ceramic market enabled by nanotechnology, in the materials and components sector. This system makes it easy for small and medium-sized businesses and the industry in Europe to access the necessary support services for expansion through a single entry point, simplifying the process and consolidating services that were previously scattered across different test labs and pilot lines in various regions.
