For two years, Sustainable Innovations has been leading the communication, dissemination, and exploitation tasks in BIOSWITCH, a project that has been encouraging brand owners to switch from fossil-based to bio-based approaches through a set of events and communication actions.

This initiative, counted with €1 million in funding and for 24 months it was focused on four value chains: agriculture, chemistry, forestry, and food, and four regions served as model demonstrators: Andalusia (Spain), Denmark, Finland, and Flanders (Belgium). 

The project has created the so-called BIOSWITCH Toolbox which includes learning and awareness tools, adoption tools and consolidation tools, to encourage brand owners to join the bio-based transition journey, thus bringing Europe to the forefront of the bio-based economy.

The main responsibilities of Sustainable Innovations in this project were to define and implement the communication strategy (corporate branding development, website, social media strategy, etc.), to coordinate the dissemination of BIOSWITCH, to organise several events and webinars, to elaborate capacity-building materials, and to perform a market evaluation and prepare the exploitation plan for the tool that was created.
