SUPER-HEERO, A PROJECT ABOUT ENERGY EFFICIENCY ACTIONS IN SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED SUPERMARKETS, COMES TO AN END
Since 2020, Sustainable Innovations has been leading the communication and exploitation tasks of SUPER-HEERO, a project that has been developing and supporting the implementation of innovative financial instruments that have carried out energy efficiency actions in small/medium supermarkets and similar retail businesses.
SUPER-HEERO was funded with €1.4 million under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program in the framework of a call on innovative financing for energy efficiency investments. Over 36 months, the project has created a replicable financing scheme for energy efficiency investment in small and medium-sized supermarkets, based on stakeholder and community engagement.
One of the project’s success cases has been NaturaSí in Padua where it raised over €40,000 for the promotion of a photovoltaic installation on the premises of the Italian supermarket chain.
Sustainable Innovations’ role focused on the promotion of these energy efficiency actions developed in the project, as well as the exploitation strategy.
